We were looking for FOBs/FOGs to sponsor our team for the "FalPet Cup" 2008 to raise funds for the College. All funds raised through this sponsorship went directly to Falcon via the Falcon College Overseas Trust.

Here are the details of what happened.... and here are the pictures to prove it.

The Endurance Course is an 8 mile run around Woodbury Common including Tunnels and some fairly hideous terrain.  Running with a log between a team is very challenging and will be a very good team challenge, as it is one of the Commando Tests.  It is NOT for the faint hearted

The FalPet Cup caused Greg and his crew some serious pain (as I’m sure those FOBs who have done the Royal Marines Commando vasbyt will attest to!) so conditions of sponsorship just required that the team finishes the course. There were, of course, separate sanctions if they lost to Peterhouse – being lined up and ceremonially stripped of their budgie caps or similar would probably have been appropriate…;-)

This sort of fundraising is critical to the future survival of the College.  Both Andy and Reg Querl have suffered seriously for their efforts, and the rest of the staff across all departments seem to be defying the law of gravity in keeping the school going. However, they cannot continue to swim against the tide without our help. Falcon, to a large extent, gave us all a step up to where we are now, and the products of institutions like Falcon are the only hope that Zimbabwe has for the future.

There's nothing to say you can't still add some dosh to the pot.  See below.
