For all those who left Falcon in 1968, there is a 40th anniversary reunion planned for late November.

This will comprise a couple of days in Bulawayo and at Falcon, followed by four days on an upmarket houseboat out of Binga - guaranteed to be a wonderful occasion.

The best thing about it is that all drinks are included in the price, so those tee-totallers from Harvey, Founders, George Grey and Oates can donate their share to us okes from the senior house. (Chubb was not around in those days).

Already we are expecting Brian Darling from Texas, Jeremy Haile from Canada, Rob Jerrard from London, Mark Sturgeon from RSA and possibly Richard Johnson from Australia. Alastair Coulson and myself from Bulawayo. I am sure there will be at least four or five others from RSA, yet to confirm.

Messrs Marais and Stakesby Lewis will be there !! Marais arrived at Falcon on the same day that most of us did - ie in January 1964. 44 years is a good innings. The first boy he met was my brother who asked if he could keep his snakes for him. Stakesby rose to fame via the first two Exploration Society expeditions in 1967 and 1968. He has converted his slides to a PowerPoint presentation. There are some compromising pictures of boys crossing rivers in Chimanimani and it is worth coming just to see those.

Anyone interested, please get in touch with me asap on loscon@netconnect.co.zw

Thanks,

Andy Laing
